Rhonda Rhines, BS, LVT
Rhonda joined the KRVC team in March of 1998. She worked part time while attending MSU to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician. After graduating from the Vet Tech program in August 2001 and receiving a BS in December 2002, she stayed on as a full time LVT.
Rhonda has loved working with animals and helping others all of her life. She was very active in 4-H and FFA while growing up. Currently she has 2 dogs, Benson and Harvey. Both have shown in the AKC Whippet conformation circuit and Harvey is currently enjoying dock diving and lure coursing.
In Rhonda's spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband and son, and going camping with her family.
Jenni Herbert, LVT
Jenni graduated from Baker College in 2008 with an Associate’s degree in Applied Science/Veterinarian Technician. After graduating, she moved to North Carolina and worked as a Registered Veterinary Technician. In 2012, Jenni and her husband, Jason had a beautiful daughter Ella and decided to move back to Michigan to be close to family and friends. After moving back, Jenni worked in a Veterinary Emergency Room for a year before joining the Kern Road Team in 2014. Jenni and Jason also had their second daughter, Gemma in 2015.
Jenni’s family lives in Fowlerville with their cat Ms. Bing Bong and dog Opie. When she has free time she likes to go to the beach, bowling and spend time with family and friends.
Kelly Brown, LVT
Kelly Brown joined Kern Road Veterinary Clinic in 2015 and is excited to be part of the team. Kelly graduated in 2010 from Stautzenberger College with her Associates degree in Applied Science and began working in the veterinary field. A year later, she passed her boards and became a Licensed Veterinary Technician. While not at the clinic, she loves spending time with her husband, Kevin and their 3 children. Completing her family are dogs- Banjo, Karma, Lacey, Odin and Gingersnap; along with their 3 cats- Buster, Cheeto and Fresco and a turtle named Jebby! Kelly loves camping, kayaking, volleyball and spending time with family and friends. She also has an interest in rescue work and looks forward to expanding her knowledge.
Megan Urka, Assistant
Megan graduated from Fowlerville High School in 1995 and has been a Fowlerville resident since 1988. She has lived on a horse farm most of her life and has a great love for all animals. Megan is excited to be a part of the team and looks forward to meeting and working with all of our clients. When not at work Megan enjoys taking care of her home, gardening, spending time with her cats, BeeBee, and LD.
Kelly Beaubien, Assistant
Kelly is a graduate of Michigan State University's Horse Management Program. The last five years have been spent managing a large horse boarding, training and lesson facility in Mason - She has extensive experience in handling/training horses, as well as teaching and riding lessons for all ages.
Kelly has now established DoubleStar Equestrian, a lesson and training program for youth and adult equine enthusiasts. There is also a team of competitive riders who travel with their horses to shows all season long.
She is excited to be a part of the Kern Road Team! When Kelly is not at the clinic, her time is spent at the farm with her two mares - Ally May & Lilly, her gelding- Zip, showing or getting chased around her house by her tiny cats Dahlia and Thea.
Kelsey Thomson, Assistant
Kelsey is very glad to have joined the Kern Road team in 2013. She is currently attending Lansing Community College and hopes to attend Michigan State University. She plans on getting her Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science and would love the opportunity to combine her love of animals with her career. When Kelsey is not at the clinic, she loves heading up north to spend time with family and friends and she loves spending time with her two cats, Bill and Betty and dog Reggie.
Margit Holfinger, BS
Margit joined Kern Road Veterinary Clinic Staff in 2015 after having been a client since 2009.
She obtained a Bachelor’s of Science in Zoology from Michigan State University in 1990 and after graduation worked as a zookeeper in Racine, Wisconsin. Margit has also worked on horse and dairy farms, humane societies, vet clinics, and as a pet sitter, giving her a wide variety of animal experience. She has also participated in conservations efforts in Madagascar and Mauritius.
In her free time, Margit enjoys working on her property (always a work in progress), gardening, reading and spending time with her cat Midnight.
